Album Context:

Third studio album “Giovanni Truppi” released January 23rd, 2015 (Woodworm/Audioglobe). Produced by Marco Buccelli and recorded by Ivan Antonio Rossi at Studio Nero, Rome. The album features collaboration with writer Antonio Moresco on “Lettera a Papa Francesco I” – a powerful rock anthem.

Special Notes:

Release party with opening acts Calcutta and Giuseppe Liuzzi, DJ set by Radio Bombay. This was the official album presentation marking the beginning of Truppi’s 2015 tour in trio formation, moving away from the previous duo setup with Marco Buccelli. The album represents a shift toward more complex arrangements while maintaining intimate, energetic performances.

First Roman performance in seven years. Support act: Ricardo Villalobos (DJ set). Part of ticket proceeds donated to UNICEF’s “Born Free from HIV” campaign. The song “Declare Independence” became a political statement throughout the tour, dedicated to various independence movements.
