About Azymuth: Legendary Brazilian jazz-funk-fusion trio formed 1972 in Rio de Janeiro. Pioneers of samba-jazz fusion and Brazilian instrumental music.

Album Context: Promoting ‘Fênix’ (2015) – their comeback album after Bertrami’s death, proving the band’s resilience.

Musical Style: Signature blend of samba rhythms, jazz improvisation, and funk grooves. Known for infectious bass lines (Malheiros), innovative drumming (Mamão), and lush keyboard textures.

Influence: Highly sampled by hip-hop producers. Influenced entire generation of Brazilian and international musicians. Collaborated with everyone from Marcos Valle to DJ Premier.

Musical Style: Emotional electronic music blending glitch, IDM, ambient, and techno. Cinematic soundscapes with melancholic beauty. Influenced by Autechre, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin.
